one of my sleds is a 1993 pantera 550 efi it has ran good since i bought it 9 years ago. just recently it started running bad. it uses excessive oil and the gas mileage has gone down to around three miles a gallon the top speed is down to around 40-45 mph. ive tryed new primary clutch and diffrent coil and wires it is hitting on both cylinders can anybody steer me in the right direction its the kids sled so you know what that means.

Yeah, replace both plugs with new ones. *Check the codes on your computer. *Check cylinder compression. *What about the driven clutch? *Replace the spark plug boots. *Check the resistance on the internal stator coils. *Could be a lot of things. *Steer us in the right direction first.

Cool

Did it just start to use a lot of oil, or has it always used a lot? The oil pumps back then were very rich from the factory on all Cats. Your dealer should be able to adjust it leaner. As far as it running poorly, check the stator. Even if the resistance values are within spec, it could still be bad. Pull it off and look at it. If a coil is black, like it is burnt, then that is your problem. It is fairly common on older EFI sleds with high mileage. Also check all the ground wires and stator connections, making sure they are all clean and tight
