Last season I noticed a small oil leak on the bottom of one of my rave valves.I tried fixing it by tightening the bellows but that didn't help so a few days back I took it apart again to clean it along with the other one. When I was putting the valves back in after cleaning, I noticed the valve that was leaking was missing the o-ring that goes on the valve. The thing is the o-ring was lying right below the rave in the bellypan. So now I'm not sure if the o-ring was lying in the bellypan since half way through last season , the last time I cleaned them, or did it just fall off? So my question is, is that why it leaked, because of no o-ring or is the gasket bad, it looked good to me. Thanks in advance.
I dont think the o ring does much to stop the oil, the clearance is way to loose. The only way I have been able to stop the leaks is to take the diaphram completly off, clean all surfaces with brake clean, and silicone it then reinstall the springs. I was at a point with mine that I had a rag taped around it to keep the oil off the clutch.
