I have a sony walkman that I listen to, put the player in my inside coat pocket to keep it warm. I have it loud enough to hear it while the sled is at trail speed, but I can still hear the machine and HORNS!! lol
Lake running gets a bit loud... too bad the walkman doesn't have the speed compensator like my truck stereo!! lol
Looking at getting an MP3 player this year, more tunes and lasts longer on the batteries! Just haven't found the right one.
I want to be able to change the media cards... store tunes on 2 or 3 media cards for those weekend trips instead of a standard built in 64meg card!!

Be sure to play music appropriate to riding style.
Riding hard will require some old school metallica, or pantera, a little godsmack, etc... :hallo1:

i have never done this but it would be nice to try. i do a fair amount of riding alone so it would be nice to have some good old metallica blasting at 7500 rpms.
however the sound of the engine itself is music to my ears.

I like to listen to all the voices in my head. lol.
Seriously, I kind of like to listen to my engine and just take in the sights. For me, music would screw up the experience of snowmobiling.

I use the Cassette Player as well. For the longer rides it kind of breaks up the silence inside the helmet.

In the past I've tried using my cd player hooked into my 2-way radio with disappointing results. I had a lot of interference and problems with the volume (couldn't turn it up enough to hear it very well) and ended up shutting it off. :slick:
This year I have an mp3 player which I will use with the bud earphones. I won't be using the 2-way radio with the new modular helmet I bought so we'll see how that goes. I just wrecked my earbuds that have the built in volume control so I'll have to get another pair before the snow flies, but I can get them for $3 or $4 so it's not a big deal. That way I don't have to access the player if I need to turn it down, the control is right on the wire which would be outside of my coat.
I have a 256 memory card on my mp3 player and with the 64 on board memory it gives me probably 5 or 6 hours of music. That would work for me for a weekend; those memory cards get expensive real quick when you're buying a mitt-full.

What a coincidence that someone asked this. I was actually thinking about that last night & was going to post a similar topic.
I find myself singing while riding & unlike when I'm drinking & singing karaoke, I really suck!
I would think that an MP3 player would be the best way to go.
