I think we need to have a class to teach people how to sell their item properly. What really irritates me is that 9 out of ten dont give a location and they do not put a picture of the item they are trying to sell, is this just me or have others noticed this. Another is that some dont even put a price. Come on guys !!!

I agree with you. I think location should be mandatory when registering for the site. It makes it easier for everyone. SWRules

I'm not sure what you have to gain by knowing people's locations just by reading in the "general" forums. It's nice to see where everybody is from, but honestly I don't see why it really matters. However, I would think that a wise person would list where they are at when they are trying to sell something.

If someone is posting looking for a shop or service in Ontario, I'll try to help. If they are in MN & are looking for a shop to make some stickers for the sled, I can't see being able to help them.

I think it helps to list the area the person's from as well as the sled(s) they ride. For one, then I know when someone is talking about US$ or not. And another someone mentions they are having difficulty with parts on their sled, but we don't know what sled they ride, which could help.

I think somehow we got on the wrong track here. What I meant was that If I am interested in an item such as a trailer or a sled a PRICE, LOCATION, and a PICTURE would let me know if its in my price range, If it's close enough to where I live to pick it up, and the picture should be mandatory.

Not everyone has the ability to post pics so that shouldn't be mandatory.

It's not hard to give location and nobody is going to be stalked here so why not give location? Otherwise the first question you have to ask when you see something for sale is 'where are you located?'

My personal favorite is " year, model, $$$$$"

Location?
currency?
mileage?
condition?...you get the point

You don't even have to give exact location. If I'm interested in buying, I'd drive a couple hours for a good deal. Maybe longer depending on what it is. For me, even "near Duluth" or "northern MN" would be sufficient.

Price does really help, too.
