Hey Guys,
Tell me I'm not the only one who's on here while they're supposed to be working!! I can't take the guilt any longer! I usually read the new posts say maybe once an hour. It's an addiction. You guys don't think I could lose my job over this, do you??
Maybe that wouldn't be so bad, then I could surf at home ALL day!!
If you are working and reading this now - GET BACK TO WORK!!

At my work, we're all so slow, most of the guys surf all the time - even my bosses! I do feel guilty sometimes too though. I know at some places it's not tolerated, but it's pretty liberal at my job. I usually surf first thing in the morning and at lunch. Occasionally, I'll get on during the day if I'm really slow.

Things are pretty tight around here at my work. You have to watch out for the boss. But I get alittle bit of surfing in now and then. Guess I should be back to work right now.

Work?? They didnt really buy me this new computer to get work done did they? Some days I'll be on here quite a bit and other days I'm working hard and don't have a chance to get on at all.

Dawg hit it right on. Look at it this way. How much time is wasted standing around the copier or coffee machine, or better yet - standing outside having a smoke? Well, I get my coffee then come back and use my "wasted time" scanning the topics.
It doesn't make it right but I'm sticking to my rationale.

Never thought of it that way. I don't smoke, therefore I post. Think that'll fly in my next performance review???

Yes, I'm guilty too. I go in spurts. Sometimes I spend WAY too much time on the 'net, other days only a few minutes, depending on my work-load.
It's hard to stay off, especially when the IT guy never checks what you've been doing.
But YES, you can get fired for things like using the company computer for personal use.
It's easy to just say, "Hey, what about those people who take a 10-15 minute smoke break!"
Yeah, I'm an addict, but I keep telling myself that it's ok, because I'm not the only one. LOL
