I like the idea of a "lug stud" but have a hard time believing they will hold up. *I am skeptical because there is not much shear area on the treated portion of the stud. *It seems to me that the head would shear off when accelerating or braking hard on ice or hard pack. *Once the head breaks off, how do you get the threaded portion out of the lug? *Do you leave it in there? *Have you ever ridden a sled with a few studs missing? *The track is out of balance & you can feel it. *Granted the lug stud is much lighter so the impact should be less.
Has anyone reading used lug studs? *What is your riding style & typical riding conditions? *Tell us how you like them! *
