I just restored my 89 formula plus and it has no bite. Track is excellent and is from the factory. Any idea what size studs to use?

no_dope,

I believe the proper length is 1/4" to 3/8" above your track lugs. Hope this helps.

If you have the stock 5/8" lug then you would need an .875 stud to get the penetration you need for trail riding, 96- 120 studs for that machine

89 didnt have a tall profile, we ran .750 for racing and trail riding. i'd go 144,that's 3 per rib it will hook up better and put less stress on the track than 96.
