Hey all, I'm looking for a new can on my brothers 2000 Xc 500. He's looking for a little better sound to this sled. Anyone have one laying around that they want to get rid of? If not, what do you all suggest for best sound qaulity? I have a dynoport on my 600 and its a nice rappy sound, lover it. I was also thinking about putting a boost bottle on for him, do these work on these as well as they do on the other big block twins? I put on on my 98 XC 600 and it cleaned up the bottem to mid range. Worked wonders! Again, if anyone has a aftermarket silencer sitting around for an xc 500 please let me know! Its not a VES model. Thanks all!

Jon

I purchased an SLO canister for my 2000 XC 500 and it fits perfectly with the pipe. The old stock can used to leak so I tried the SLP and it gives the sled another 3 hp and is much lighter. The sound is a little different, a little more louder but the sled has a new life with the SLP can. They go for around $200 US, but you might be able to find them cheaper. Good luck and Happy Riding.
