I'm running a FIII 700 with a peak hp rpm of 8800. I'm running a 230/380 primary right now. Problem is this. With the clicker in the 1 pos. I'm still creeping past 9000 after 110mph.I wouldn't mind taming the engagement a little so I was thinking of going to a 200 lb spring, but should I go with the 350 or 320 full shift spring?
The lower the end load on the spring will lower the top RPM's or increasing the end will increase the rpm's. This goes for the front load rating of the spring. -Grover :hallo1:
I've installed dyno-port pipes and milled the head. Dyno-port says to run the 230/380 at 8800 rpm's. I've done some tuning today and got the 230/380 dialed in. It hits really hard. I would like to mellow out the engagement abit though. I tried to order a 200/380 spring from my local dealer but he told me they don't make them any more.
I have 280 ramps, stock arms and pins, 230/380 prim, 50 deg roller helix @ approx 20.5lbs.
Is my best bet a 200/350 and lighter pin weight? If so how much lighter than my stock pins?
Must be Joe's kit eh Satan? The spring end load has alot to do will the weight and the cam on how it carries it. Very sweet kit! By the way, I was up to 28grams on a stocker!@!! Joe was sh!ten!! Thing pulls like a mutha!I think the spring is starting to settle a bit. I want to try it on the trail first before I do anything else. I might try some different springs. -Grover w00t

The 200/380 spring you want can be had at your dealer, just ask for the old green/white. This will bring your engagement down to 43-4400. Add a couple grams to the pins. Going to a 350 spring should also lower the top by 200.
