OK on my 1992 plus with an 89 mach 1 583 rave engine it seems to be fouling plugs. Im useing NGK BR9ES. If i run a BR8ES witch is hotter will it burn more oil and not foul. Or should i try and run the anti foul NGK's. How do these anti-fouls work or do they? I dont see how they could make the plug not foul.? Any other ideas. Can low compression cause plug fouling? Any help is appreciated!

Check your plugs gap. I think it should be 0.45 but double check with a dealer.

You are trying to put a band aid on a problem with the different plugs. When is the sled fouling plugs (at idle, while running, what speed/rpm)? Is it both or one plug only? How many miles on the motor? Are the carbs adjusted properly? Are the needles and seats leaking in the carbs? You said its an 89 motor in a 92 frame, is everything from the 89 switched over with the motor (carbs, entire exhaust, external ignition parts, anything that is related to how the engine was tuned from the factory). You can't mix and match other parts since they are two very different motors. Has the 89 motor had the first year mods done, ski-doo did a rework to the head, pipe and other tuning parts in 90/91 through a service recall/bulletin. If the motor and carbs are working properly you shouldn't be fouling plugs, you have a deeper problem. The correct plug gap for that motor is around 20 thousandths of an inch (.020) There are lots of possibilities, give us more info.. Good luck

Ok it was fouling them while is was riding it would just make a putt noise and run on 1 cyllender. So id stop pop a new one in and a way i went for a little bit longer. So i put a BR8ES plugs in instead of BR9ES so that there hotter plugs to burn more oil mabe. It hasnt fouled these ones now. Its running good and the plugs are a nice brown color. But some times when im riding it will get this huge bogg in it and it feels like its running on 1 cyllender so if i hit the primer and play witht he throttle it will take off and run fine then the bog will come back again. This bog usually appears just after 5000RPM's. so im going to take apart my carb here in a bit and check the float height and every thing. Ill let you know what happens.
