I have a 00 formula z 700. I have read in the posts how the form z and mxz 700 motors are slightly different/ sand vs die cast. My form z 700 crank blew out so i just purchased a used 00 mxz 700 complete lower end. In comparing the 2 lower ends there was a definite difference. All went well till I attempted to bolt the form z cylinders onto the mx-z lower end. The form z bolt would just spin in the larger mxz lower end threads. So i bought larger bolts to fit the mxz lower end threads. But the larger bolts will not fit thru the form z cylinders. Am i safe to drill out the cylinder holes to fit the larger bolts? And if so will the form z cylinders work correctly w/ the mxz lower end? I heard that the mxz cylinders are different also and that the form z to mxz combo will not work. Any ideas or examples out there before i start drilling.. thanks dje
