Just bought a 98 SRX 700 which runs great for 10 mins then one cylinder begins cutting out. I checked the spark plugs, wiring, caps, changed plugs and the're ok but I found the p.o had re-wired the tether cord plug into a real mess of wires. I suspect its linked to the black box which may be the problem.
I've ordered a manual but have to wait a week - anyone have a wiring diagram they can send me?
I am not sating it cant be electical.... but check the float level. I fought a 700xtc for a year. New coils, new stator, different jetting, new engine seals,,, had a dealer work on it 5 times. The float was about 1mm to high.
