i just spoke to my dad he imformed me that when he opend the trailer he found my 500 leaking gas.... he looked all over couldnt find the leak but he said there is gas in the beely pan driping out.... so does anyone have any ideas about what is causing it.. is it the lines?? he shut of the fuel valve and that stoped the leak... and it started leaking after my dad drove it for the first time.... any ideas... im sorta nervous because i have a trip comming up in 1 week...
Many sleds have a section of fuel line mouted to the bottom of the bowl, quite common for it to rot and cause a leak, either that or as suggested above a stuck float. If the carbs have not been cleaned as of yet this season it would be a good idea to do them regardless.

What has happened to me in the past is if I put a little too much gas in the gas tank (so it's REALLY full) and it either warms up (and the gas expands) or I trailer the sled somewhere the gas can leak out the vent line. Not gallons, mind you, but some can leak out.

I agree! Filled right up to the neck, temperature warmed up a few degrees and I was spewing fuel!
