The new sleds are comming out next week and I'm deffinitly getting an '05. But do I order now for SnowCheck, or is it a waste of money? Local dealers around here still have "spring only" models on the showroom floor. any tips or opinions

I usually consider snow checking a waste of time and money, but this year I think I will spring order in order to get exactly what I want(05 Renegade 600Sdi). But in the past any sled I bought could have been purchased in the fall for less money and usually some kind of free accesories. With the number of different models, motors, colors and other options, its a craps shoot wether or not the dealer is going to order exactly what you want.

if it were not for spring order i wouldn't have electric start and that is something i would have never ordered but it was a freebie, wouldn't go without it now.

It's always a gamble. If you snow check you are basically guarenteed you will have that sled you want. If you are choosing a standard package it may make more sense to wait untill fall. I however snow checked my last 2 sleds because I wanted the special graphics, x suspension etc. You may be able to find a spring only sled at a dealer in the fall but it could be a big gamble and you may not find one.

Exactly. If money is a factor, I would just wait until the fall/start of winter to buy a sled. If you place the order in the spring, you'll usually get a decent deal, and can get the EXACT sled that you want. If you wait, there's less of a chance you can get that particular sled, especially if you want some of the spring-only options.
Another thing to consider is buying one at one of the pre-season snow shows. There were a lot of good deals at the ones around here (Hastings, MI and Greenville, MI). My friend bought both of his sleds at the Hastings Snow Show (2004 MXZ REV Renegade X 600HO SDI and a 2004 MXZX 440). He saved a few grand by doing it that way. Both sleds were cancelled orders that the dealer was looking to unload at the show.

Is there any real point in pre-ordering next week. my local dealer has leftover 'spring only' models. I dont wanna give up the extra cash if i can get the same model in november for a smaller price tag.

why does your dealer have spring only models? its a no no to order them for stock! some unlucky guys must have had to leave them. I already left money on the mach z 1000 as it as I understand is spring only. my dealer gave me a peek......which is also a no no, but he knew I would take one
