So I'm looking at my motor yesterday and I notice alot of oil around just one of the rave thingy's. Why is it doing this?
The sled is running perfect. Why would it do this?

Thanks in advance...

I think you ned to get a couple of new RAVE gaskets and O-rings (maybe $10), either of them may be shot.

Take the RAVEs apart and clean em and install the new gaskets and O-rings. This should stop them from leaking.

It depends where the oil is coming from, there is a little breather hole on the bottom side of the rave valve body (the part that bolts to engine) if the oil is coming out of there then you need new rubber bellows, if it's coming from between the rave assembly and the cylinder then it's just new gaskets ya need.

I have the same on my '02 800. The PTO side has oil on it and the cylinder underneath. Also has oil around both plugs. Guess I'll be checking my o-rings as well.

I agree with the above. You also might want to check that your oil pump lever is returning. My 02 was bleeding oil pretty bad in one rave and the "Y" pipe. Sure enough the lever was sticking on the return. ( not every time) Cleaned all the metal parts with W-d and now it works fine. I believe someone posted this earlier which caused me to check.

Get it fixed yet? My 2004 500ss did the same thing. Took the cover apart and found the large spring that retains the large bellow laying in the cover. Put it back on and all is good. Pull the valve out and clean it. Mine had a lot of carbon build up w/ only 350 miles on it. Must not have been working correctly.
Love my Rev.
