Has anyone else noticed a crack in their belly pan behind the battery on an Edge chassis sled? It looks as though the battery tray does not fit very well and has been putting a strain on the pan. Finally now it has cracked.
Oh well, more warranty work I guess :whatever:

On my 00 600 the belly split at the 2 rivets just forward of the support where the steering rods are. It happened within the couple thousand miles. Polaris replaced it with an 01 belly pan under warranty. SWRules

No, I am not talking about the shock tower split. I had an 01 600 that did that after only a few hundred miles... This one is cracked directly behind the bottom of the battery tray. In order for the tray to line up with the mounting holes you have to put quite a bit of pressure on it, which bulges out the pan. The contact area is right on the bottom corner of the tray and the bulged area has now split open. I just cannot believe that someone would assemble the unit like that. Obviously if you have to force something into place there is a fit-up issue that needs to be addressed.

I do not think this is an isolated case as my buddy's 03 has the same problem, although his has not cracked yet. I will slot the holes a bit to prevent it happening on my new one!
