I have an '01 mxz 700 w/ 2700 mi. Is it time to check/change the reeds. No noticable performance problems yet but I wanted to get the colective's opinion. Thanks in advance for any help.

Its always a good idea to inspect them after a couple years. The reeds are probably okay but if you still have the stock cages in it, inspect them very closely. SD had some problems with the rubber coating on the cages delaminating. IF you see any signs of this replace them. If you have to replace them then maybe look at VFIII reed cages.
If there okay and you want to replace the reeds and are looking for better throttle responce, then go with the Boysen reeds. They make a big improvement to throttle reaction.

I just replaced my reeds with V-Force 3 reeds, but after removing my old ones I kind of wish I hadn't, they looked like brand new. 3000 miles no delaminating and petals are tight against the cage, I cant see any light through.
BTW its from a 2001 MXZ-700
