alright i'm trying to shave some weight off my sled, i'v got a FZ 583 i wanna take out the elec start is this worth the hassle am i even gonna see a difference i was told the startor weighs in at ruffly 30lbs ? plus battery another 10 or so i'm gonna say

I'm not sure about the total weight of the battery and the starter, but I opted for the free e-start on my new Gade-x so you can do what I plan on doing. Eat less fast food and loose the spare tire I always said I would never have the extra weight on my sled, but after riding the wifes Gsx last season I decide to give in to my lazy side.

haha yea i guess, i bought the sled off a guy and he put it on cuz he's wife had trouble starting it, but i don't even use it half the time only on really cold day's it's usualy parked in teh garage anywyas, so i figure if i can save weight why not, it is a nice add on though

I really don't think its worth while.I used to have a 94 STX with electric start,and I never was beaten by a Z in all the time I had it in radar runs.Enjoy it,turn the key and go :thumbsup:
