Thumbs up

I just bought a 95 xlt sp the guy I bought it from sais he always had carb problems with it. It will always start on the first pull and idle fine, but when u give it gas it has very little power and bogs. I ran it for a few minutes on a stand and it just kept getting worse then stalled and would not start, let it sit for a few days and first pull started and idles fun any ideas? maybe a good cleanning or bad needle and seat? And does the 95 need the oil line mod? thankd for any and all help

as long as u dont pipe it and try to turn it up to 9000 rpms, they are know to go 7-8000 miles with no problems on the crank.there r mods if u want to take it apart.i have one with 6000 miles and it goes exellent. the low end carb adjustments are very critical.hth

Definately get the fuel situation settled. The carbs are pretty simple so I'd take them off and go through them. Check the rubber that the carbs mount to for cracks. Fuel lines may be in rough shape if its stock. I'd run 1 size up on your PTO main jet to keep that side a bit cooler.

Definatley go through the carbs.

Usually if the needle and seat are bad it would flood after sitting for a few days. However you say it starts fine.

Are the plugs soaked with fuel after it starts running bad?

All three cylinders firing?
