Putting a temp guage on my 01 800x. I have the sender and gauge but unsure of the wiring. Only two posts on the sender so should be easy, but cannot find a schematic anywhere on the web.Could someone who has done this install give me some sage advice. Thanx in advance. Bring on the snow!

I think you just hook the 2 wires from the sender to the guage? I don't remember even getting a separate sender, I think the sender for the 'dummy light' will run a guage as well..

The sender is different, you need to use one for a guage. The wires on the sender should plug in. If i remember the wires are there in the dash, at least they were on a 01 mxz 700. let me know if you can't get it and i will pull the panel off mine and see how i installed it. BTW........Good move on the temp guage, could save a set of pistons and some spendy cylinder work.

1st...it's super easy

1 you need to get a different sender as a sender for the dummy light will NOT work!
Simply hook up wiring that's it
if you have any more specific questions just ask

Yeah...in the wiring harness behind the dash, there are connectors for both a fuel gauge and temp gauge. Just choose the nearest connector...The only problem you will run into is making sure you put the wires in the right place, and for that, a wiring diagram would sure come in handy..some wires go into the same holes in the connector.

About the fuel gauge installation, is it difficult?
I just bought a new fuel gauge but, I need a sensor.
Does anyone know where I could find one?

Thanx for the replies. Yeah, I did get the different sender made for the gauge. I will look this weekend at the harness behind the dash and see what that brings....Mud, if you do get the chance, let me know the gauge post- to- color wire setup. Props!

When you add the temp gauge make sure you unplug the wires from the idiot light. You cannot have the light in the circuit or the gauge will not work right.

The wire on the back of the guage would be (guage installed) purple closest to you, then yellow/black then the top wire is yellow.
