Make sure you ground yourself to something metal before you insert the new chip so as not to ruin the chips... static electricty can wipe 'em out big time. Treat it just as you would computer memory.

Draining away any static charge is a good idea, here are a few others.
The chip has a reference notch on one end, make sure the new chip has the notch facing the same way as the old one. If the chip is installed backwards it will be destroyed as soon as the ECU is powered.
The chip also sits pretty deep inside the ECU case and is a pretty tight fit in its socket.
A chip puller is cheap insurance to make sure the pins (legs) of the new or old chip aren't damaged.
If the chip is removed or installed at a weird angle bent or broken legs are common.
Good luck,
Vman

before you insert the chip into the slot, touch any metal parts on the engine. You need to allow any static to flow to ground from your body before you touch the computer module. I try not to wear shoes that cause static spark when I walk across the carpet; when I play with memory or chips on a computer, I will even go as far as taking off my socks so that I remain grounded. Computer people wear a grounding strap from their wrist to a grounding source in some shops to prevent static discharge, but that is probably overkill to replace an EPROM chip on your sled.
AC sells the tool for pulling the EPROM chip (Erasable, Programmable Read Only Memory), the part number for the one on my 95 EFI 580 is 0644-188, I dont' know if that would be the same for your 600.
Hope that helps

The colors of the injectors represent the size sled the throttle body is put on. The color of the injector is matched to the color of the dot on the EPROM in the ECU.
