I just replaced the hyfax on my MXZ 700. What is the best procedure for breaking
them in? THINK SNOW--SOON!!!

just ride in the snow till they wear out, that'll break them in. i've heard all sorts of old wives tales which none are true.

It's a fairly inexpensive wear part, so I've never really given it much thought. If a guy worries about hyfax break-in around this part of the country, he isn't going to get much riding in. I have heard that one should over heat them by running down a 'low snow' trail then quickly dipping into some deeper snow. I can't say that believe that it will extend the life of the hyfax. I think the best thing you can do is always be on the look out for the best snow available and ride 'em until they're worn out again. Have fun.
