Hey guys i was just wondering my formula z 670 is a 1999 and i was just wondering if it will compete with the yamaha srx 700, the arctic cat zr 700, and the polaris 700, all about the same age range will my 670 compete with these sleds on the lakes ? Tell me how my sld will do............ thanks guys

Is it a HO? High out put not a street walker. If it is it will run very well against most 700s I've had a few walk past my 700 MXZ. ( Not this year though, I've been busy!

) The 670 rotary valve was one of Ski-doos best engines, the 583 being the best in my opinion. This motor will please you and with a few mods down right floor you. An issue, unfortunately, with the chassis the 670s were in was weight, F-2000 and the lighter, but still heavy S-2000, thats yours. Do what you can with regards to weight reduction and you will catch those 700s quicker. As for the 700 SRX sorry bud, the Yami is a triple cylinder/ triple pipe and a lake burner. Yours is a twin with single pipe.

The HOs did not come in the FZs only the MXZ and summit models.You may not beat all of these sleds but you should be right there with them.It would depend on conditions on the lake.Snow is a great equalizer because it takes so much hp to push through it and the 670 has lots of torque.The SRX should take the lead though.

You'd get absolutely destroyed by an SRX (they'll even take apart the new 800 HO's) and beaten badly by the ZR 700. With a number of mods you may be able to hang with the Polaris. Bottom line: If you want to lake race, buy another sled. If you want a fun snappy ride that will do well against those sleds on the trails, put a clutch kit in it and gear down a notch and make sure you have at least 144 studs.

Quit worrying about top end speed and have fun!

how close would a rebuilt '94 STX 583 with t-moly pistons be to a 1999 Ski-doo formula deluxe 670 with reverse and e-start? we're friends so we need the bragging rites.

The 583 will not beat a 670 if they are both in good running order.Also the S chassis is more aerodynamic than the F chassis and lighter as well.

the cat and the polaris are a toss up ..both need to be set up and tuned just right to run real good ...make sure your rave valves are clean and good gas ...but take my advise , dont bet the guy with the yamaha any money ..you will lose it

We'll race for titles but only out here in the powder: with my new engine and clutch mods (read: torque city) and 1 3/4" track you don't have a prayer!

Of course things change if we were back East on ice/hardpack.

PS - I've ridden your sled plenty of times and they are WAY fast on hardpack but not so much in snow over 3 feet (my best friend has the '02), not to mention rough on the trails.

PSS - If you haven't tried shaper bars, GET THEM! They help that front heavy SRX a TON in corners!
