Hi guys, long time reader here but I rarely ever post. I have a question regarding maintenance on a stock 1995 Mach 1 670. I have had the sled since 1998 and bought it with 700 miles on it. It now has 2300 miles. This sled has been awesome, the only thing I have ever had to do besides routing greasing, adding crank case oil, replace slides, replace carbides, change idler wheels, change the belt, change spark plugs and so on is put 93 octane gas in it and Bombardier XP synthetic oil in. This sled has been a dream to own and ride, I absolutely love it. Anyways back to the question. I have always stored my sled up in Vilas County Wisconsin where a buddy lives so I didnt have to trailer it every time I went up and therefore, I never had the sled at home during the year to do maintenance on it. This past winter I brought the sled back down here to do a thourough maintenance check-up. Now that I have the sled down here and have some time I want to check on some things. What are some good things to check on other than what I stated above? I have never checked the carbs or clutch because it has never once acted up in regard to performance or acceleration. Like I said, it has been an absolute dream. I would like to keep it performing this way and treat it as well as it has treated me. What do I need to do? Any help or advice/info is greatly appreciated. Happy riding!
Ryan

besides the stuff listed, clean the carbs and rave valves, check for mice in the exhaust pipes. I'ts fairly young as milage goes so perhaps that is all you will need, other's will know better.

yeah My dad has a 95 mx 470 still runs like a top, i had to clean his carbs and clutch last yr throttle response was good, but alittle boggy at low rpm, so i cleaned it for em and made a noticable difference, i checked his reeds out too and theyre not the stiffest things on the planet either hes gonna need them replaced cause they can chip and get into ure engine and cause some damage, and u will have little throttle response. Everybody says u should clean ure clutch every year too but my dads wasnt too dirty hes had his same belt on his for 5 yrs and is still like brand new but i guess it depends on how hard u ride ive seen others that are filthy yr in and yr out. But my dad hasnt gone much over 50 in the past 8 yrs i think hes lost his edge. But Every task u list is pretty much up to par. But check the carbs and clutch out if u feel the need to cause u never know things tend to happen.
Good luck to yah

How did you check the reeds on a rotary valve engine?
