I've got a 2000 powder special 600 efi that I'm having some cutting out problems. If I hit a jump and land hard or hit some big bumps in the trail hard the sled just falls on it's face. I can let off the gas and it will idle just fine the hit again and away it goes. If I don't let off the gas it will die or I have to feather it a few times and it will take off. I've checked all the wire conections and they all look fine. It's like it looses spark or something. I'm stumped here anyone have any ideas.

Thanks.

Sounds to me like your on the right track but need to do a little more looking........have you checked the wires down by the recoil that come out of the stator? Pretty common spot to get chaffed.

thanks guys, I'll checked the wires all over again and I'll check the kill switch as well, didn't think about that.

I've got a lot of other work to do on it this week as well. I had a run in with a tree and tree won (stupid tree ).

It is probably not the kill switch, but more likely the throttle safety switch. The fix for that is to replace the plastic washers on the throttle pivot pin. You can test the switch by bypassing the safety switch with the bypass plug from the tool kit at the three prong wire connector at the base of the handle bars. If it works fine with the bypass, then the safety switch is the problem and the washers will fix it. It is a very common problem.
