what is the real difference in a rad cap, my sled calls for a 15lb cap, I cant find one other than the dealer and its close to $40 can, so my question is, can I use a 13lb and if so what would be the affects of using it, because a 13lb or a 16 lbs are readily available anywhere and are only $7-8 can.

Is it the standard size? The cap on my 'doo is smaller than a typical automotive cap.

Basically the higher the pressure the hotter the coolant can get before boiling.Using a lower pressure cap may let the coolant boil out while a higher pressure cap could possibly cause damage to your cooling system by providing more pressure than it can handle. The pressures are close enough on the other two caps that either one of them would probably work ok.

the polaris rad caps i have seen are what i would say same as automotive size and some of them have a flipper on top to release the pressure i guess.
