What is needed to be able to mount precision skis on a S chassis sled? 01 mxz 380F. Can the REV mounts be used with spacers or bushings, and new bolts, or do special mounts have to be bought from DOO.

Thinking about getting rid of the old steel and putting on a pair of used precisions to try.

so this saddle kit, replaces the regular mounting brackets that are from a rev?

the reason i am thinking about this, is if I can make the REV mounting brackets work somehow, I can get the whole package for a real good deal.

But if I have to buy a new set of mounts, it might not be worth it depending on the cost.

I put precision skis on my S-2000 Formula Z670. It was a great upgrade I'd highly recommend. The only problem is that your S-2000 spindles are too narrow for the wide saddle on the skis. I agree that a saddle kit from SkiDoo may be a good answer, but that's not how I did it and I don't know how much the saddle kit costs.

Instead, I purchased a pair of used spindles (about $45 if I remember right) off of a newer chassis (1999 to 2002 MXZ with the ADSA front suspension...was that the CK3 chassis? I can't remember what it was called right now) and replaced my original spindles. The spindles will fit right into your original trailing arms, are wider to accept the precision skis, and now the new REV skis are a direct bolt-on with the saddles they come with. It worked great.

yeah.....ZX chasis, that's it! Anyway, I should add: Make sure you get the bushings, ski bolts, and rubber pads that are usually attached to the spindles. It's been 2 years since I did this and can't remember which parts from which spindles needed to be put in to pull it off. I do remember that I didn't need to buy ANYTHING except for the used spindle with all the hardware. My spindles came off of a 1999 MXZ 600, and my skis came off a 2003 REV.

Ahhh, you can make it work with some grade 8 metric bolts, bushings to go through the brackets (which should already be on the skis if they are take-offs), some bushings or washers to take up the extra space between the ski spindles and bracket, and then a set of rubber bumpers that go under the ski spindles off any S-2000 or CKIII sled that came originally with the Flex-Skis. You might also need different bushings inside your spindles, depending on which ones came on your sled.

Total cost on top of the skis shouldn't be too much if you get most of the parts from a hardware store and not a Doo dealer.

I actually called my dealer today. He told me if I have the skis, brackets and hardware from the REV mount it came from, all I would need is some hardware for the S2000 chassis mounting. Said he could sell me just the hardware I needed, instead of the whole kit, probably around $20

Hard to beat that...will look better than something you cobble together at a hardware store, too. Guess I shoulda called my dealer before I respindled mine, huh? Oh well, mine looks factory fresh, too and I was able to sell my used spindles on Ebay to make my net expense less than $20 also, but it sounds like your dealer method is less work. Let us know how it works out.
