2002 RMK 700 w/ 144 track---- sled just has reeds, bottles, and a can
Well I purchased a used Team clutch and I love it but it is over-reving now. The team clutch has a 140-240 spring and a 34-36 helix. Everyone I have talked to says I should have 155-225 spring and a 58-42 helix in it. Now I am sure that would cure my problem but I understand how much potential the clutching presents to my sled so I will be changing the primary soon to add a little performance to the track. My original solution to this problem was to just weight up the primary to slow the engine down but my polaris dealer said if I do that it would make my engaugement point around 2500 rpm's and it is a at 3700 rpm's right now. What do you think I should do? The primary clutch is stock right now and it has a black/green spring with I think 62g weights. Ever since I installed the team clutch my belt consumption has drastically increased which I believe is due to over-reving. I want to get the most performance out of this clutch as I can without spending to much money....kind of poor right now please help!
Did you ever find anything out about your clutch set-up??? Where in AK are you??? I am in Wasilla and looking for a set-up for my 700 also, Later, Troy
You should try the 155 225 primary spring this will raise the engagement and lower your rpm and if you insrease the spring preload on the secondary this should help with eating belts sounds like you have to much slippage i don't like the helix i think it finishes the wrong way but i think if you increase the preload it should
work it dose have a shallow enough angle to clamp the belt if you have enough perload on the spring don't buy anything until you have to start with a new spring they are the cheapest you didn't say how mutch you are over revving if it is alot you may have to change the weights as well as the spring

You should look at a pro x clutching setups for 02 and 03. They came with Team secondary, that had a 62-42 / .46 helix. Can't remember what they ran for a spring in the secondary but that set up with 62 - 64 Grams in primary and the black/green spring should work awsum all round for you with nearly no belt wear if all components good, clutches properly aligned and motor mounts secure.
