i have a 94 ext580 efi that doesn't seem to be charging the battery i have a new battery and also put a battery tender on it. when i ride it only seems to run as long as the charge lasts. any one have this trouble and what do i need to do to fix.

I have a 95 EXT 580 EFI and just went through the same problem with mine. Does the battery light on the dash stay lit? The problem with mine was a broken wire underneath the hose coming from the heat exchangers. The wires run from the stator plug to the voltage rectifier. They are yellow with red stripes.
