When I got this STX the guy weighed more than me and had the suspesion up high, but had the ski pressure matched.
Now that I have dropped the suspension down a notch forward and back springs,it stears harder...my 1994 STX has the plastic knob
that has a nylon strap attached to adjust it...but Im just unsure if I turn it in more or out..now that the suspension has been turned down a little??
anyone know

loosen limiter strap for more weight transfer under acceleration.tighten the strap for less ski lift under acceleration. will let the skis lift off the ground more. if you want less steering effort at steady speeds, you need to increase the spring tension, on the forward arm of the rear suspension. set the tension of the rear arm of the rear suspension, to match the weight load of the rider(s). high tension for heavy load, low tension for light load. trial and error for best ride.

I would recommend that you set all of the springs to their lightest settings including the front suspension. Then try one change at a time until you get it right for you.It may be fine all on the lightest settings. If I remember correctly loosening the big plastic nut loosens the limiter strap and tightening it up tightens the strap. You will be able to tell just by watching what the strap is doing as you crank the nut.My 94 STX always handled like crap until I got plastic ski's for it.Stiffening the rear springs would make it handle better with the steel ski's but then the ride was too stiff. The plastic ski's solved the problem and I could run it with all the springs on the lightest settings. If your suspension is getting really soft the shocks are probably worn out as they seem to have as much or more affect on stiffness than the spring settings.
