My 01 ZR800 has a slow idle return issue. It seems to hang high about 3000 RPMs for about a minute, I tried searching all post but nothing came up. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Has this sled always acted this way? I have owned many sleds that have done this. I just ignored it.

Try setting your warm idle in about 1400 RPM.........work'd on mine.

If setting the idle low doesn't help try opening your AIR SCREW an additional 1/8 turn.

Isn't that usually the sign of a lean condition. Adjust the fuel screw, and/or air screws to enrich the idle a bit. If blipping the choke fixes it that tells you it needs more fuel.

Yes and No.........with flat side carbs it's one of the trade offs that comes with the increased throttle response they provide. Normally opening the air screw a tad would lean it out but according to Greg Spalding from AC it makes the carbs pick up more fuel, didn't make sense to me either but it worked.
