Who has a tempa flow installed in their 99 zrt? Where did you mount the body? In the air box or outside of it?

Darryn, I have one on my 01 ZR and my 01 ZRT. I installed both of mine sticking out of the airbox, so that the adjusting screw is outside, but the rest of the chamber is inside the box. I've never had any problems with this. Somewhere I did read one time that the chamber could be mounted outside the box completly, but it wasn't from Holtzmann, so I didn't put much value in it.

I have one in my 01 ZR 800. I was surprised by how easy it was to install. I'll take some pics for you. I was going to take a couple pictures for MikeD but I broke my camera. Now I have a new one so I'll do that when I get a chance. Do you have flatslids carbs on that sled? I think so,,,, It is very east to install with this type of carb. I'll do it as soon as I get a chance.
You will be very very very very happy after you install this carb compensator!!!!!! It has worked wonders!!! Perfect brown plugs in many different temperatures!

Thanks for replies guys.
Jim, my instructions tell me to keep the body in the same place as where the carbs are vented. The vent lines just loop over the carbs and go straight down (not into the airbox) yet the illustration only shows it mounted in the airbox. I might have to contact Holtzman and find out what they have to say. Thanks
Brother D, pictures would be great, thanks.

The Tempa-flow body always goes inside the air box. Tempa-Flow must read the same air that is going into the engine. What it tells you is that the venting must remain to the same condition as before. This means that the output end of the Tempa-Flow must lead to the outside of the airbox to match the under hood venting that is typical on AC sleds. On my sled the large Tee fitting is on the back side of the airbox, between it and the bulkhead.

Darryn, what they mean by "same venting method as your carbs", is the thick hose that comes off the end of the chamber opposite of the adjusting screw. So, you will run that hose off the chamber from inside the airbox to the rear of the airbox, and cut a hole in that section of the airbox so it can vent outside the airbox near the steering column. As mentioned before, you want to do this so the engine/TempaFlo reads as close to actual outside air temp as possible.

A couple things to remember before you start drilling.
1. The points where the other two hoses exit the airbox must be lower than the T-flo chamber itself.
2. If your sled has the spare spark plug holders in the top of the airbox, consider how low these hang in the airbox if you're going to put the chamber in that corner underneath them.

Most important of all, remember to always follow the directions about taking it easy for the first mile or so after the sled's been sitting, such as stopping off for a drink or a bite to eat. You must allow time for cold air to move through the airbox again; otherwise the Tflo will think it's warmer than it really is, lean your engine down, and KABOOM if you take off fast right away.

Thanks for the pictures and the info Jim, I have one question. Do you one vent line per carb on your 01 zrt? I only have one per carb on my 99. Does this make sense?

That's all I have on my 01 ZR. The vent is on the upper right hand side as you sit on the sled. Only 1 per carb.
I have a question though. My Tempa has been working perfectly, however when I saw Jim's I was second guessing myself.
Jim, My tube from the tempa body in the air box just comes out into the box only 2 inches or so, and then I have the T on it with nothing hooking onto it. So it's just suspended in the airbox. I read an article that had pictures and that's what that guy did. Is this way OK I wonder??????? Hope it makes sense.
