have an xcr 800 and I have 192 studs and Im considering removing some. I feel it pushes me through the corners too much. how many studs are everyone else running. I have 8" dual carbides by the way.

I am running 168 with my xcr 600. Which is way to many and it isnt a high power sled by any means. I am running the sno-stuff ultra lite backers which dont have nearly as much support as a normal backer so I figured 24-48 more wont hurt.

I definatly reccomend for you to only take out the ones on the outside of the track. Those are the studs which are notorious for ripping out a section of track. Plus the outsides are the ones that will make you push through coners the most. I have all 168 of mine in the center. The best combo I think your gona find for your sled is either 144 or 168 on only the center of the track. This will provide just as much acceleration and braking with less understeer and much higher track durability.

I'm running 192 on a '98 SRX 700 and I love it, doesn't push through the corners, fast braking, awesome holeshot.

Yeah, just keep them down the center and you will be good with a lower number of studs.

Randy- I have 144 Woodys Gold Diggers all down the middle.None on the outside on my 03 800XC.It has 8 inch Bergstroms carbides and handles like its on rails after setting suspension up.After a total of 3671 miles I have only had to replace 3 that were bent. I ride her hard but safe.Hope you get the answers you are looking for here.Lot of good help here on HCS!

The more and more I think about it the more i think im going to switch to 144 studs. Its downright frustrating being pushed around every corner. I know that this sled will handle great I just need to set it up right. I want to destroy people in the trails as with on the lake :hallo1:

The fewer studs the better you grip on ice. The more studs the better you grip on hard pack. So it all depends on what your riding.
