Bombardier has announced a recall of a limited number of its new Modular Helmets. A defect was detected o*n the visor hinge of some helmets.
Product shipments containing the defective helmets have been identified and the recall is limited to some large and extra-large yellow helmets and some extra-large and double extra-large black helmets.
The affected helmets are distinguished by a sticker with a green dot and manufacturing date of July 1998. This distinguishing identification is located o*n the inside-back of the affected helmets. No other sizes or dates are affected by the recall.
In accordance with federal regulations, Skidoo snowmobile dealers have been notified of the recall. Customers are advised that they should return their affected helmets to the place of purchase. If you are uncertain about the safety of your helmet, take it to a Skidoo dealer for inspection or contact Bombardier Recreational Products in Valcourt, Quebec at 1 (800) 375-4366.
