Maybe its just my computer here at work but all I get is the sound with no picture. Or it just may be time for a media player upgrade.

I have the same issue when I try to play it with Microsoft Media Player. Try playing it with Quicktime, as it should be. You might have to reassociate the mov mime type back to quicktime though.

To do that you might have to actually save the movie to your local computer (right click and save as), then right click on the file on your computer and choose "open with". You might also have to select "Choose Program", but in the end, select the Quicktime player and click the "Always use this program to open this file type". Then click OK.

Is there another way? Personally, I don't like Quicktime invading my computer. Or is there a way to have just the player w/o all the other crap they seem to have wanted to install few years ago?

You can open the .mov video files in anything you want as long as it is abl to read the format. The forum software does not choose this for you, it is your system that determines the actual mime type.

My suggestion was just a reference to the problems he was experiencing with MP. If you can play the files in something else, by all means go for it. I agree that Quicktime is a pain in the butt with all that itunes crap that comes with it.

There are alternatives though. This one works too:

I'll check it out for sure. I have not been able to play .mov files with Media Player or Media Player Classic. I don't like any programs that carry a pork barrel. Thanks!

Irfanview is an image program, not video. Try the alternative I posted above.
