I am doing a research project on titling and registering snowmobiles and ATV's. I work for a lending institution.
Do any states both title and register these off-road motorized machines?
All states title on-road vehicles - how about off-road?
I know many now require a registration but the department of motor vehicles (DMV) or secretary of state offices don't track lien holder information. Why?
If a state does both title and register them, what is the cost? For the title? For the registration? When does the registration expire? Do any states require bill of sales to prove ownership? Or the original manufactures statement or origin (MSO) for the title or registration?
Anyone know if any state tracks lien holder information once titled or registered? Thanks
No title in Ohio. Registration using bill of sale.Hull numbers attached to sleds, none on 4 wheelers. Sticker is good for 3 years. Around $10. This is an antiquated system. They should be titled.
