After countless hours and $$$ of putting your hotrod together, would you take it to the strip for the chance of losing it? Watched the show last night and didn't really understand it. Is it the best of 3 runs? I couldn't devote all my attention to it, so couldn't hear everything. HAve to hand it to the guy that lost his Nova...he knew he had less horsepower, but was given the option to take a car length's lead and refused it....said racing is for men, bracket racing is for babies. Maybe he's not a baby, but now he doesn't have his ride either.

If I was filthy rich and didn't care, sure I would race for pinks. I'm sure that everyone gets paid on that show though. I've only watched it once.

I have watched a few shows. I thought that once they lost their cars/bikes that they had to sell it to the other guy/gal for $1. I didn't know that they were getting paid as well. Like said before I thought the show was going to be cool but don't like it once I watched it the few times.

Makes you wonder how much money though they get from the show to do that. I mean if i was racing for pinks on a TV show i would also expect to be compensated from the show for my time and my appearace. Mind you not everyone is as good looking as I am. If the money from the appearance would cover the cost of the car than no big deal.

Seems to be lots of these shows on now, from Rides to Overhauling to Hot Rod etc... Must make large from the show to do these things, nobody in their right mind would allow themselves to look bad on TV for nothing.

My thoughts too. Surely they must be getting some endorsement from the show, thus making the show bogus. I thought the show sounded neat to when they were advertising it before the initial show, but this was the first episode I saw and was not that impressed with it.

I would like to see a sled version.... that would be nice.... losing a $8k ride sounds less painfull then what some of these guys have given up...
