Winter storm warning for
City of Winnipeg changed from heavy snowfall warning
Snow, strong winds, and reduced visibilities are expected to persist into the evening and overnight.

A Colorado low is hitting southern Manitoba with an early taste of winter. Southwestern Manitoba is being especially hit hard as reports of 25 to 45 cm of snow have been received. Strong northwest winds are accompanying this system and are giving reduced visibilities to at times near zero. A further 10 to 15 cm of snow is possible in these areas this evening. These blizzard conditions are expected to persist for the next 4 or 5 hours before tapering off later this evening.
In other areas of southern Manitoba, snow and very strong northeasterly winds are occurring, reducing visibilities at times to less than 1 kilometre. These conditions can be expected to last through the evening and into the overnight hours. In the Red River Valley the majority of the snow has melted on contact but as much as 10 to 20 cm of snow can be expected in some localities by Thursday morning as the low moves northeastwards through the area. Strong northerly winds as high as 60 gusting to 80 km/h in the Red River Valley are also expected to persist into the evening hours.

City of Winnipeg changed to winter storm warning
Heavy snow for much of southern Manitoba for the rest of today and tonight.
A Colorado low is hitting southern Manitoba with an early taste of winter. Southwestern Manitoba is being especially hit hard as reports of 25 to 45 cm of snow have been received. Strong northwest winds are accompanying this system and are giving reduced visibilities to at times near zero. A further 10 to 15 cm of snow is possible in these areas this evening.
