I'LL BE PULLING A TRAILER SLED THIS YEAR AND PLAN ON RIGGING IT WITH LED LIGHTS.
WE'LL HAVE RUNNING LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS IN THE BACK AND POSSIBLY LIGHTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRAILER.
THE QUESTION IS=DO I TAP THE TAIL LIGHT BECAUSE IT HAS THE BRAKE LIGHT FUNCTION=OR DO TAP THE BATTERY ON THE PANTERA?

I would tap into the tail light as the required circuits are present there, also if you are going to run LED's the load should be light and not should not affect the existing system.

Get your self a 12 volt test probe found at any auto parts store. The probe is for poaking into the wire and when you ground the other end an LED will light if you have voltage. This way you can tell the difference between the Break and Tail light wires. Like catdoo said, tap it at the tail light, and you can use a thing called a scotch lock , that will allow you to tap the wires with out having to cut them

I would recommend soldering and then use heat shrink tubing and wrap with electrical tape...my experience with Scotch Locks is they sometimes cut strands of the wire and they do not keep moisture out which eventually causes corrosion.

The brown should be ground, the red the brake light and the yellow the tail light.

Try to avoid poking any hole's in the wire with a test light, the corrosion that sets in will come back to haunt you.
