Just wondering if any other firecat riders have any ideas for mods for my 05 F7 efi, shes brand new straight from theif river but didn't get sold last year. I am just picking it up this week, I am upgrading from a 2002 ZR600 carb, but i want to add a little extra to the new cat,, perhaps a cluth from D@D with a new y-pipe and pac system what do you guys think or has anybody had any luck with any other mods????? Pray for SNOW!!!!!!!!

being that your last sled was a zr 600, I dont think your going to have to mod it out at all.......just push the gas in further!

the Bikeman pipe mod and supertip clutch kit along with a 2.5* timing key will give you excellent results!!!

2.5 key y pipe and pac would be a good combo. need to run it first so you'll know any difference. keep apv's clean

Great stuff to use BUT ONLY if your capable of watching plug color / piston wash.............no sense blowing up a new sled just for the sake of a lil more rock n roll.

I would stick with the D&D y pipe and a timing key and also the clutch kit from D&D. I seen the Y pipe in action on the grass and looked good. I don't think I would try the Bikeman pipe mod just yet as it it to new and might be overrated. I always found it best to stick with one aftermarket supplier than mix matching, that way you can get honest answers when something goes wrong or does not work. A loose track and tight belt with a good set up rear skid for transfer will give you a good head start also. Good luck...

I tested the first BMP pipe mod almost a year ago and can say it definently works,we had to add 2 grams of weight to get the rpm's back down and you could feel the difference right away!!

I am curious as to what you tested that pipe on (year and size) F7 F6 F8 F9? The reason I ask is I almost sent my pipe out to Bikeman and when speaking to one of his staff they told me it would give me UP TO 10 HP as they had just dynoed it on an F7. Needless to say I had a hard time beleiving that. I am not sure that he had his facts inline. 10hp for 150$, priceless. Now I could see it giving it a couple of ponies for the F8 or 9 even the F7. Has anyone else got this mod for true field results also? Wanna hear more. thanx

well the F-8 and F-9 have a compleatly different mod than the F-7 (not even sure if there is a mod for the F-6)but the mod I was refering to is for the F-7 tested on a '05. I haven't seen the dyno numbers but just from the difference I felt and having to add weight to the primary I wouldn't be surprised that it gave 7hp or more!! Erich hs done several pipe mods for the 700 and there are alot of positive posts about this on HCS forum.my personal experience with BMP is that they are a no BS company and are a great bunch of guys that really know whats what.

I'd guess that the were was a slight miscomunication on the 10hp. They have been dynoing at an extra 10hp but that was with the pipe mod, Ypipe, and fuel restrictor. I wouldn't worry about putting the Ypipe and Pipe mod togethor which is what I did because BMP sells D&D products and has done plenty of testing with the two in combination. Erich is definetly a great guy to deal with real easy to talk to and very straight foward I felt.
