Click here for the ebay auction.
I emailed the guy about the weight of these compared to conventional push thru studs w-alum backers, he says they are the same or lighter. Anybody have any experience with these things? Worried about installing them only to find out there garbage, then be stuck with holes in my track that are to big for conventional studs. But... if there good stuff, it sure would be slick.
Opinions?

JMO, the problem with the old t-nut style studs was the t-nut itself. These studs seem to adress that issue with a stronger "machined" nut. I think they look good.

I had a buddy put something on that looked just like those, and let me tell you, no want to be behind him anywhere, he shot out about half of them the first ride, one or two right thru the snow flap.

Can you give some more details? Did they tear out of the track, or just the stud came of of the mount/backer deal? Thanks.

I had those old t-nuts in an old sled,,,, cant say that I lost a bunch of them or had problems with them, but they arent near as nice to put in as simply shoving them through the track,,,
If I remember right, I had got a heck of a deal on ebay on mine also

They are a good idea being able to change your studs from trail to race in the matter of 30 min's. But didn't hold up to well, many Tear outs. I have a few buddys that tried them, problem is that you have to drill a 3/8 hole in the track to mount the carrier and that just kills the track.

Come to think of it, the 3/8" holes kinda scare me.

Another intresting fact is that the company that made the twister stud system went belly-up. I guess they couldn't keep up with the warrenty claims.
