Ok here it goes, My fathers 91 indy 400 bogs, it will start up good cold and run fine, when it gets up to temp it runs fine. Problem is when going up hill or any kind of incline or if your to aggressive with it it bogs really bad. clutches and belt are fine. jets and float valve are fine. Fuel pump is ok, I just can't figure it out, anyone have suggestions?
Thanks

Something can't be right with one or more of the things that you say are fine. If it is bogging, then something is wrong, and all the things that you say are fine are the things most likely to influence this behaviour. I would double check those items, because something is wrong, most likely in your carbs and/or clutching. In the carbs, I would be looking for fuel starvation or flooding, in the clutches, I would guess it is not backshifting correctly.

Agreed, somethings not right, almost sounds like it's starving for fuel under high load conditions or the clutches aren't shifting. Perhaps time to double check everything.

Alright im an idiot, I think we figured it out, the tank had a massive amount of water in it, so I think when it was going up hill or a slight incline the water would go to the back of the tank and get sucked through the line. Thanks for the help.

Ok I was wrong, it runs now when it wants to, we came to the conclusion that its electrical it sparks every now and then, not continuious like spark should be. IDK I'm about to flip it over and let it burn.

Also My dad wants to know if its run with points or magneto, I told him magneto but he dosen't believe me.

No points in there. Clean the carbs out. You may have some water in the bowls. If you are positive on the spark thing, it sounds like you either have a bad ground that it is doing it intermitanly. Usually when a CDI or a coil goes, they just go. Unplug the wiring harness to the ignition and the kill switch, this will eliminate that they are going bad. Brother had an Artic Cat and the kill switch was going bad in it and it was doing weird things till we figured it out.

I agree it sounds like a bad ground. I would go over the sled, and check all the grounds, and all the connections. Make sure they are all clean and making good contact.
