I have a 1981 ski doo everest 500 Electro F/C. I had to stop riding last year because it started performing poorly. I thought it was the carb so I rebuilt that and the problem persisted. It would start hard and foul plugs and die while idleing. by the end of the year it would not start at all and there was no spark. In an attempt to fix it this year I have replaced the battery and coils and I have gone through all of the wiring, soldering connections that looked bad and ensuring good grounds on everything. still no spark. This sled does not have a cdi box, the 1982 was the first year to have that. Does anyone think it could be the voltage regulator? I cannot find anything else in the elictral system to replace. Please help me it just snowed and I want to get out there before it melts.

It might be time to check or replace the points/condensers and timing.
