So do those of you with a BV2S helmet use the replaceable absorbant pads in the mouth piece?
I see reuseable ones for sale on eBay such as
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Ski-doo-BV2s-Modular-He...1QQcmdZViewItem
Are they better?
IF SO, any idea what type of fabric is used?
I heard/read somewhere that some had used nursing pads, anyone tried this?

I have a modular helmet and i use the nursing pads . Way cheaper than the doo replacments. A box of nursing pads are like 2-3 bucks for 50-100 pads , compared to doo's 10 for 10. Plus i carry a few extras for when your sheild gets wet 1 wipe and its clear most of the time you can reuse it , unlike a napkin or t/p .

Do you have to cut them to size to work in a BV2S?

Depends on what size pads you get. I here the Dolly Partons will act as a sled cover or a slush gaurd which ever you please.

And if you get lost and cold in the wilderness you can use them as a blanket

On ours I just trim the sides about a 1/4" , just to keep them from blocking off the holes .I did try them without trimming them and they work , but alittle to close to the holes. Every once in a while it will move and start to block up a hole , trimming them works perfect and they stay put.

I have a modular helmut and I stopped using the pads altogether. They seem to drain ok and I do not get any liquid sloshing around in there. I use a towel to wipe it dry when i take it off. I smoke and the pads were pretty stinky after riding all day.
