well.. i finally got the sled together and running great..
the only problem in having is that it only revs to 7800 rpm...
shouldnt it rev to 8200-8500?
i pin it and it just sits at 7800... no higher.. it also engages at 4800 RPM
its got a yellow/white prmary, a yellow secondary, 51 degree helix and middle hole on the secondary.. the weights are also stock..
i weigh 185 lbs and i have a 1 inch track if that makes a difference
what do i do to get it to rev a little higher??

I think that would be right for a twin, most triples only go to 8200 to 8500 rpms, don't want that twin spinning to fast.

seeing as you have a steeper helix(stock is 49deg ) you either need to max out your secondary spring in the 5th hole or go to a red with white spring in the secondary (as the yellow prolly wont be enough even maxed out unless you put the stock helix back in). the 98 ac performance manual say`s 8500-8700 rpm`s for peak for a 98 zr 600

its got a button secondary on it too... someone stole the roller lol..
i wanna keep the 51 degree helix for snap outta the hole..
so i guess ill just do a red/white spring... and which way do you spin the spring to make it rev higher? like if your lookin at it, left or right?
thanks

A good set up for that sled is a 60/48 helix, red/white cat sec spring in the fourth hole, 53 grams of weight (cat wts), and a arctic cat red primary spring. The engagement should be at 4800rpm and max rpm will be at 8500. This will wake the sled up big time. Also wind the sec spring clockwise and go back to roller secondary.

if you need to raise the rpms by more than 200, you should do it with the primary, not the secondary. that being said, i actually prefer the red/white secondary over the weak ### yellow for better backshifting and more snap.
primary spring and weights is how you adjust rpms. secondary if for adjusting shift characteristics.
(you want your sled to pull at 8300 and peak at 8500 on long runs)
you sled won't pull worth crap with a 51 helix. you need at least 54 start angle to make it rip out of the hole. every clutch combination i have tried (many) all pulled much harder with steeper innitial angles on the helix. your sled just can't pull that much heix with the weak springs and light weights.
before you make any changes i would go over your entire clutch. if you are only running 7800rpms with stock set up something is not right. the factory set up was horrible and over-rev'd big time on the 98's.
one thing to note i am not familiar with button clutches so i don't know if that is contributing to your problem.

are you sure you meant to say red primary spring? i have tried a set up close to that, but not with the red primary. that is the weakest spring cat makes. not very good for these sleds that have no torque down low. that is why you need to engage near 5K for decent holeshot.
i would thing orange/white primary would work much better with that set up.
there is no way you can have red primary with 53 gram weights and engage at 4800rpms.
more like 2800 rpms.
i like the 60/48 helix and heavy weights, similar to what i am running.
