Has any one ever had or heard of a clutch coming lose from their sled? Man do I feel like a retard started the sled today and took it for a little test ride just to see how it was running. And got about a mile out of town and was keeping off the throttle and then I thought I blown a belt. So I opened the hood and seen my primary clutch came lose from the engine! The bolt looks like it still has good threads on it. I can’t believe I never noticed it coming loose. Now my next worry is did I f**k up my crank? Has any one ever heard of this? Or am I the only retard out there to do this?

I don't think you caused any damage to the crankshaft when this happened.
I do have a couple of questions for ya though.

Did you recently have your clutches serviced?
Was the clutch bolt torqued to spec?
Was any lubricant used on the clutch or crank?

I say take the clutch off and clean the crankshaft and inner shaft of sheave (that sits over crankshaft) using carb or brake cleaner. Then reinstall the primary and follow factory torque settings.

You should be good to go.

was at the part shop today and the guy there told me a new clutch would coast $525 cnd. but he also said that he has an clutch in new condition that is off a 96 zr 700 that he said would fit across. would that clutch work on my sled? would it be a good decision to use a a/c clutch on a polaris sled? they said my old clutch was pretty messed up and to rebuild it, well i was better off spending and extra $150 to $200 and buy a new one.
