just want to know if there is a correct way to install sliders on my 94 safari deluxe. my buddies installed last week and they busted the end where the screw and nut are located. Would it be better to use a heat gun or propane torch...any help on this would be greatly appreciated :bash:

As long as the rails are clean, the sliders should go on pretty easily, occassionaly needing a little tap with a mallet, but you guys must've really whacked 'em to break 'em. Are you certain they were the right ones? I've never used a source of heat but I have aided the process with a little white grease on the rail.

they were the correct sliders but the end of the sliders needed to be curved and bent back to sit in the rail...on normal machines they just seem to end at the tip of the rails but on this machine they need to be bent back....Is this normal?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with your machine and not following you, got a pic?

Edit ... I just went and looked on the Ingles site, never seen those before. Hopefully someone with a similar machine pipes up for you!
