Does anyone know how to tell if the recall for the rewind starter has been completed on a sled?

SB: 2002 Summit/MXZ 800 - Rewind Starter

Skidoo2002 Summit 800, Summit 800R, MXZ 800, MXZ 800R -- RewindStarter Replacement on 800 Engines without Electrical Starter

Over the past week the rewind starter would sometimes skip or not engage fully.
Is there anything that I can look for showing that the recall has been completed or should BRP have record that the recall has been completed.

Thanks

Any dealer can check the VIN# and tell you whether or not it has been done.

I belive there was actually more than one bulletin for this. I found a number for the 'head shield' bulletin (on this site I think) but when the dealer punched it up, it showed up as superceded and the new 'update' was the part number for an '05 recoil assembly, which has updated internal parts that don't melt. So even if you had the original update done, there might be a new update. Whatever you do, make sure to put tons of loctite on the bolts or they'll come loose and wobble out the holes, and you'll have 2 problems to deal with. I bought longer bolts for the front 2 holes, put loctite on them, and then put nyloc nuts on the back side. (a pain to do, you need a tiny wrench to get them on...) So far so good
