Does anyone know how to remove the oil tank from a '98 Mach 1? It appears that the fuel tank has to come out. Anyone done this before?

Start from the back and work your way forward. Seat, fuel tank etc.

I was afraid of that. Okay, I have the rear suspension out in order to do some other repairs and I don't see any fasteners for seat/fuel tank mounts in the tunnel. I'm probably missing something or looking in the wrong place. Where would I get started removing the seat? once the seat is gone, is the fuel tank removal fairly obvious?

I'm a pretty mechanical person, however I've never dealt with seats/gas tanks before, especially on "newer" sleds, so any input is appreciated.

2-10mm nuts inside the rear tunnel will get your seat off and 2 springs for the gas tank.
You will have to un-plug the tail lights and gas sending unit also.
Watch the rubber plug your gas line is hooked to or it will all pull out and it is a bugger to get back in.
Air box removal is a must the rest is self explanitory.

Thanks!! Just the info I was looking for. Takes some of the guesswork out of the project.

Take care.
