just bought an 03 600 ho mxz carb, did ski doo change the mxz much from the first 03 rev model to the new 06-07 models? also what are the performance differences between the 600 ho carb and the 600 sdi sleds? speed? fuel economy? etc thanks

well this is just comparing an 03 600ho sport to an 05 600ho sdi sport. the sdi is faster and the fuel mileage is comparable to my buddies rx-1 and another buddies powertek 800. i just picked up an 04 sdi and it needs a bit of work but hopefully it'll work like that 05. sled pulls hard and fuel mileage is unbelievable. motor comes out of my sled tonight and rings, and new intake boots go on.

After hours of back to back running of my carbed H.O. and a bufddies SDI the only real difference we could find was the SDI had a little more midrange and got better fuel milage. The SDI would fall off faster if over revved where as the carbed could over rev without much of a change.
Both the carbed and SDI suffered the same fate with the poor piston rings until 06 and the SDI had several remaps to cure all sorts of ailments including a flame coming out of the exaust when you backed off the throttle that would melt your side panel...just ask my buddy who replaced 5 of them before BRP fixed the problem. The SDI was better on oil consumption as well.
As far as the chassis goes BRP started using the SC 4 rear suspension on 05 X packages and across the board on the 06's.
A roller secondary became standard in 06 as well. It's an improvement but a clutch kit is needed badly even with the roller.
Lets not forget in 04 the dumped the beaver tail as well

Forgot to add in 04 BRP went to stronger a-arms and then in 05 upgraded the flying nun with 440 braces ...some of them...to compensate for the stronger a-arms.
In 06 they went to a lower ride height as well as adding the Pilto ski.
